Military Hunting Society Military Hunters Group №648 (MHG-648) A few words on the history of the group The MHG -648 was created in 2005 by an initiative group of hunters- dog breeders who had been members of the Military Hunting Society for many years in accordance with the
laws of the Russian Federation, the Regulations of the MHS and the
instructions on creating of a MHG. The main purpose of the creation of this
group and its activity was the goal of the promotion of hunting with dogs in
accordance with Guidelines on the hunting dog breeding in the MHS of the
Ministry of Defense. During the time since its inception the
group put in a lot of work on meeting its annual goals, here are the main examples: - full sponsorship is secure for the group - 0.5 ha. of land were bought and a comfortable living quarters in the Matoks farmland (Rzhev hunting grounds) was constructed and equipped with
everything necessary for the active recreation of the MHS members, including
kennels for dogs. - several vehicles (automobiles and
tractors) were purchased, as well as containers for storage of feed, tools
and equipment - three high quality, insulated and tall
scaffolds (6m) were constructed on the 8000 ha. lot of the hunting
grounds with large feeding fields and
feeding grounds for wild boars near the scaffolds - a necessary number of salt licks was set up - poaching, which was rampant on the grounds, was suppressed - the purchase of a necessary amount of feed is provided for - a large reproduction area has been created and is being protected - clearings and roads necessary for the
battue hunting have been cleared - hunting for elk, wild boar, bear, and
various kinds of wildfowl were prepared and conducted for all the MHG members
and the guests from MHS (including other groups) - general support was provided to the hunting grounds - hunting with various breeds of dogs was successfully conducted during
permitted hunting seasons - the group financed and organized
participation in and trips to all regional and national hunting breed dog
shows, and the regional and international competitions on hunting for the
wild boar and a decoy bear - foreign and out-of-town guests were received on several occasions for demonstrational hunting - scaffolds have been set up, and fields
have been sown for bear hunting on oat field in the Tikhvinsk region (the
Leningrad Society of Hunters and Fishermen), a large number of successful
hunts were conducted - a large number of wolf battues were conducted - winter itinerary list events and year round protection of the grounds are conducted annually, several unregistered
firearms, including rifles, were confiscated As a result of conducted events was the
noticeable increase in number of all species of birds and animals – bear,
elk, wild boar, badger, raccoon, hare, marten, mink, beaver, squirrel,
black-cock, wood grouse, hazel grouse, wood pigeons, waterfowl and moorfowl
become more available for hunting. Dogs of almost all breeds of laikas, pointing dogs, burrow dogs, and spaniels participated
in the hunts. At the request of the Society hounds and greyhounds didn’t
participate in the hunts (there are other special lots for them). Birds of a feather… We didn’t forget about the group members... fishermen and mushroomers. A small photo report

fishing, mushrooms and berries): Very beautiful places, there are barely any people here, it’s quiet and cozy. The game warden “ripped off” everybody for 30 rubles for the season pass (until November
15th ), can you imagine!
